Rowan's Class project on the Solar System

A few years ago, I bought Rowan a small glow in the dark solar system mobile... We never put it together and it sat in his room gathering dust... back in November, he pulled it out and asked about it. We talked about planets, stars, space, etc... he was fascinated. We talked for over an hour while looking thru his Solar System book. He decided he wanted to share this with his class. After talking with his teacher, we decided to do a "science project". We got huge sheets of paper, taped them together & to the floor of the assembly hall in school, drew the different orbits and made signs for each planet. We brought my yoga ball to use as the sun and made a little earth ball to talk about rotation. The kids were great, interested and SOOOOO happy to get out of class and DO something rather than sitting and listening. Below are pics.
